I would like to welcome all cat sailors to CRAM's 2013 season. The officers have been working diligently to finalize the regatta locations and to roll out improvements to various areas of the club. Some of these improvements will include an updated Website, Facebook page and the addition of a Twitter account. We will make the online registration process easier and it will include sign-up for the meals. This will help us plan better, streamline the on-site registration and will give everyone more time to tune their boats, socialize or have another coffee.

The Caseville regatta will again be the Can-Am challenge. In addition, we will be happy to host the National Championship for the Shark Catamarans. This will be their 51st consecutive Nationals as the Shark is the oldest racing catamaran class in the US.

The Saturday of the Tawas regatta will see the resurrection of a long distance race into Tawas Bay with leg one finishing with a catered lunch on a beach somewhere. Leg two will be the return trip to the State Park (weather permitting).

The A-boat fleet is currently planning three day regattas at North Cape and Caseville.

For those who have never raced their catamaran, I want to invite you to come out and try it. CRAM will waive the registration fee for anyone attending their first CRAM regatta.

We will continue to strive to make catamaran racing fun and family friendly while offering competitive racing. Please drop me a note with any questions, comment, suggestions or anything that could make the upcoming season better and more fun.
